How do I clean my floor ?
Maintaining your Grid-loc floor is easy ! A quick mop over every now and then is usually all that is required to remove any dirty marks. If you have a build up of sand and dirt under the tiles it can be vaccumed or blown out with a garden blower - no need to remove any tiles ! The drainage channels allow for dirt to be blown or washed out, and because they are vented the sub floor will dry naturally not trapping any moisture.
-
What happens if I spill something ?
No need to worry, Grid-loc floor tiles are Oil and Stain resistant ! Perfect in a garage or workshop where accidents can happen. If you spill something substantial such as oil, our tiles can easily be lifted 1 at a time - in any part of the floor, no need to remove any more than necessary. Once the spill is cleaned the tiles can also be degreased or scrubbed and re laid.
-
Do the tiles move around ?
Once a floor is laid in between walls it will be locked in position and will not move around. We have custom Grid-loc screw down edgings which keep floors firmly in position when walls are not utilised. Our screw down edgings are perfect for high traffic areas in commercial settings or for freestanding vehicle podiums.
-
Can I install myself ?
Absolutely !
Grid-loc floor tiles click together nice and easy, large areas can be laid in a matter of hours. If you are handy with a Jigsaw or Circular saw you will be able to cut the remaining edges of tiles into the walls or around obstructions. All you need to do is measure twice and cut once !
-
Are they slippery when wet ?
Our Grid-loc tiles have a unique textured surface to each rib making them non-slip ! Perfect for when you step out of the car on a rainy day or if you are using the tiles in an outdoor area ! Be wary of imitations out there with a smooth surface !
-
What if I drop some screws on the tiles ?
We have tested our tiles by dropping all sorts of different screws and bits and bobs on them. Our findings are that the gaps between the ribs are smaller than most screw heads so the vast majority will not drop through - even really small screws ! They are easy to simply pick up, but a great tip is to use a magnet ! Should something extra tiny fall in between a rib, its very easy to quickly remove a tile , retrieve it and re lay. If anything the ribbed design of the floor tiles actually stops the screws from running miles away over the floor and out of sight !
-
Why Grid-loc Tiles and not Epoxy paint ?
I’m glad you asked !
Painting a floor will not filter the dust and dirt like our tiles. Painting a garage floor is not achievable in half a day, in fact the process can take up to a week in some cases, not to mention the smell ! We can create unique designs and add border spaces in different colours. Our tiles will not peel off the floor, and will not stain. If you damage the paint a patch job will look like - a patch job! In the unlikely event of a damaged tile - simply swap it out !
You can take your floor tiles with you if you move house !

Are they strong enough ?
Grid-loc 400 Floor Tiles are made from High Impact virgin Polypropylene Plastic which is rated for 20 Tonnes of static load and 34 Tonnes of rolling load ! Plenty strong enough for garages and even commercial workshops. They are 100% Recyclable - but not made from recycled plastic - be wary of cheaper alternatives that use recycled plastic which is not very strong and will fail.
